How to Play
Overview
Play with 3–7 players. One random player is the Imposter and receives a different question. The rest
(the Crew) receive the same question. Everyone answers without knowing which question others received.
Then, players vote who they think the Imposter is.
Create or Join a Lobby
- Click Create Lobby on the home page. Share the lobby URL/code with your friends.
- Or join an existing lobby using its code.
- In the lobby, the host can use Invite (copies the lobby link) or QR Code (shows a scannable code) to bring players in quickly.
- If you're logged in, you'll auto-join lobbies with your account name (no need to retype it).
Round Flow
- The host clicks Start Game to begin a round.
- Everyone receives a question. One player (the Imposter) receives a different question.
- Answer within the time limit. If you don't answer in time, a blank is auto-submitted.
- When answers lock, the game moves to Voting and shows all answers. You'll see who is still "waiting to vote" as votes come in.
- The host can click Reveal Question during voting to show the Crew question to all players.
- Everyone votes for who they think is the Imposter. Results are shown and scores are updated.
Host Controls
- Start Game: Begin the first round (visible only while waiting).
- Next Round: Start another round with new questions and a new Imposter (appears after the first round begins; hidden while waiting).
- End Game: End the session and show final scores/winners (only available after the game has started).
- Answer Time: Adjust the per-round answer time between rounds (hidden during a round).
- Reveal Question: During voting, reveal the Crew question.
- Invite and QR Code: Quickly share your lobby link or a QR for players to scan.
Joining Mid-Round
Players can join while a round is in progress. They'll spectate that round and join as full participants in the next one.
Reconnecting
- If you momentarily disconnect, your spot is held for about 10 seconds so you can reconnect without losing progress.
- Refreshing the page will usually put you straight back into the lobby; your name and vote/answer are preserved.
- If you're logged in, you'll also auto-join with your account name.
Submitting Questions
Use the Submit Questions link to propose new question pairs. Admins can approve them before use.
